Modeling of carbon dioxide absorption by solution of piperazine and methyldiethanolamine in a rotating packed bed

CO2 removal by the blended amine solution of piperazine (PZ) and methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) with various molar concentration ratios in a rotating packed bed (RPB) was modelled using MATLAB linked to Aspen Plus. All required correlations for RPB addition mass energy balances were written while demanded physical transport properties extracted from The similar operating conditions compositions reported experiments used run model two-film theory transfer as steady state, impact five different parameters on absorption efficiency examined validate model. modeling results are good agreement experimental data which average absolute deviation is less than 7.0%. process analysis revealed that rotational speed PZ have most significant effects efficiency.
